Challenges of the Modern World
In an increasingly interconnected world, many of us feel even more disconnected and alone. Simply trying to survive in the Bay Area can leave little time to invest in ourselves or our relationships. These problems have only been exacerbated by COVID-19 and the necessary precautions we're all taking to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. While smart phones and social media allow us to keep in touch, they may leave you longing for the intimacy only in person connections can provide.
The Need for Intimacy and Love
We all crave genuine intimate relationships, including with our friends, families and romantic partners. These relationships are vital for our emotional and physical well-being. We rely on our loved ones not only for the love and affection we need, but also for physical and practical support in our times of need. This support has become even more difficult to get due to the pandemic and tumultuous sociopolitical climate. If you feel isolated and alone, it may hinder your ability to cope with the challenges of daily life, damage your self-esteem or cause you to feel anxious or depressed.
Understand the Past, Move Forward
Our past inevitably influences the way we think and feel. Often deep-rooted insecurities and fears originating from our childhood contribute to the relationship issues, anxiety, depression, or self-doubt we experience as adults. Sometimes these problems are compounded by abuse, neglect or trauma, which can make it even more challenging to live fulfilling lives and build and maintain meaningful relationships. The key is to understand where your problems come from without letting your past determine your future.
The Most Important Relationship
I believe the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. It's often more difficult to love, forgive and accept ourselves than it is others. I will promote your self-awareness through an open and collaborative exploration of your thoughts and feelings and help you identify and change old patterns that may be holding you back. In doing so, you will be better prepared to pursue opportunities for intimacy and take meaningful steps to improve your life.
A Partner in Your Journey
Solving your problems can be really hard, but you don't have to do it alone. I will be there for you to offer guidance, feedback and support as we work together to find solutions that leverage your strengths, fit your life and help you find the clarity, peace of mind and fulfillment you deserve. I look forward to getting to know you.
